That's actually a really good point!

I would expect to go through a pair of tyres (at least!) for this trip as it's 2,000 miles at least and mainly upright motorway as well, so that's £200-250.

Plus add in a night or two at a hotel that will be at least £100.

Then add fuel in for 2,000 miles... about £275 for 2000 miles at an average 35mpg at 120p per litre!

So yes, the cost is actually pretty good!
